...On EarthPaths we care about your body and mind....
Indian Tea Legend
Legend from India attributes the discovery of tea to prince Bodhi-Dharma, the son of King Kosjuwo. Bodhi-Dharma was a Buddhist monk and the father of Zen Buddhism. It is said that Bodhi-Dharma, led by his beliefs decided to abandon India and travel to China to preach Budhhism. To accomplish his mission with dignity he shouldn't sleep for the nine year's of the journey. Around the third year his body and mind started to weaken. He was almost giving up when he picked up some leaves from an unidentified tree and began to chew on them. These were leaves from a wild tea tree and their stimulating effects made Dharma feel suddenly revived. The astonishing properties of this plant allowed him to continue on his way and keep his vow.
